Today, let’s get to know Rita Ferreras, a free-lance beautician doing home service to her kababayans and for locals as well.
Rita, 48 yrs. old, a wife, mother of 3 and a grandma of 1, hails from Dinalupihan, Bataan, Philippines. She’s been working in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia since 1989 and had seen how Riyadh has grown into a blooming industrial city from what was once a barren desert.
In order to meet her families’ need, she does body massage, hair cut, manicure, pedicure, facial, hair waxing, body waxing, make up and hair styling, hair color, eyebrow tweezing and threading, wart removal, name it and she will do it.
Employed as an all around beautician at Al- Hairia beauty parlor when she first set her foot in Riyadh. Since then, she has worked in several beauty parlors in search for a better income and opportunity.
After years of experience working as an all around beautician, Rita was able to build rapport to her customers. She then started doing home service to locals but asks minimal service fee to her kababayans. An assistant beautician is helping her around, she is Jho from the province of Nueva, Ecija.
It doesn’t mean that if one is working abroad, he or she is amassing fortunes just because he is an OFW. Many kababayans are working 2 – 3 part-time jobs just so to have additional income and give a decent life for their families. Let’s face it, some kababayans are spending beyond their means that is why, some reasons of doing side lines is to support their lavish lifestyles, specially the “singles”.
